The CROWN63 1.0 version bulk carrier series was developed with a high starting point, based on the collaborative needs of major international clients. It represents an innovative leap over traditional HANDYMAX vessels, incorporating internationally mainstream equipment. A total of 64 vessels have been delivered, with the early batch obtaining the GREEN PASSPORT certification in China.
Each evolution of the CROWN63 model embodies the dedication and hard work of shipbuilding professionals. The latest CROWN63PLUS (CROWN63 3.0 version) is an upgraded iteration built upon the CROWN63 2.0 model. Developed in collaboration with a Japanese design firm, this version optimizes the hull form and has undergone model testing at the Tokyo water tank. The new design incorporates energy-saving insights from actual operations and the practical feedback of owners and the company's own shipping division. It adopts a range of energy-saving, consumption-reducing measures, meeting IMO’s EEDI3 energy efficiency standards and Tier 3 emission requirements. By enhancing the vessel’s intelligence level, the design ensures effective communication and coordination between ship and shore, providing robust technical support for safe and efficient operations.
In March 2012, the first CROWN63 series bulk carrier (hereinafter referred to as "CROWN63") set sail slowly from the wharf along the Guangling River in Yangzhou. This marked the beginning of a journey of continuous refinement and iterative upgrades for the CROWN series bulk carriers.
Since taking over New Dayang Shipbuilding, the Shipbuilding Company has built upon the CROWN63 1.0 version, introducing updates and improvements to the model. The CROWN63 2.0 version has been enhanced to meet efficiency indicators and common standards, with a particular focus on energy conservation and emission reduction, achieving compliance with the second phase of the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) requirements.
Starting from May 2021, when the first cooperation intent was confirmed with CCB Leasing, the model has accumulated a total of 43 orders to date. This is a testament to the strength of the Shipbuilding Company's well-established independent brand and reflects the dedication and professionalism of the shipbuilding team.
